4 of the most painful words in the world

4 words. When you put these words together they form a sentence that plagued Red Sox fans for 86 years, continue to plague Cubs fans, and as much as I hate to say it, plagues us proud New Hampshire faithful.

Wait till next year.

I feel sick to my stomach just saying it, but thats the reality of things this weekend. Despite a great and frantic effort by our good guys in blue, the puck just didn't roll our way against Miami of Not Florida. Even with Radja's highlight reel shorthanded goal, a nonstop offensive barrage that would normally leave the opposition begging for mercy as if they just got suckered into a steel cage match against Maggie Joyce, things just didn't fall the way we wanted. Miami of Not Florida's highly touted defense weathered the storm to the very end and took a well earned victory.

We had the loudest and most supportive crowd the Verizon had offered in recent memory, we outshot them 2 to 1, our team was healthy for the 1st time in a month, everything was supposed to fall into place.....But it didn't.

Ya, I know, this is all depressing and everything, but I'll try and bring everything back up.

I guess the only question left to ask is: now what are we to do? We get up, dust ourselves off, root for the Mainers and BC to go down faster than Aiello does in the BC locker room before games, and we enjoy what the Good Guys in Blue did get right this season. We can celebrate the fact the team pretty much locked up the regular season title before the half way point of the season. We can enjoy the fact that we pinned a second straight embarassment on the Mainers at their trailer trash of an arena in front of their trailer trash fans. We can always celebrate the fact that our own Godfather Hoser was recently named the official favorite hockey fan of John Graveliesse (WOOOOO!!!!). And of course, we can always celebrate another fun season worth of greatness, randomness, and complete and udder absurdness as only we can perpetuate this.

Honestly, you just cant make up half the shit that has happened to us.

So let us raise our glasses to the Good Guys in Blue for an exciting season, and to the departing seniors, McFlicker, Vinz, Murray, Ciocco, and Hemmingway, nothing but the absolute best wishes. While it may take sometime to get the bitter taste out of our mouths, I offer you this to try and wash it away faster. All of this may hurt now, as has the past years, but it also adds flavor to what is inevitable. We will get our day of ultimate glory, there is no denying it. All this waiting is what is going to make that day even more special.

We'll get our day, and when we do, it will be a day that nobody will ever forget.

Until then, we wait and remember, at least we're still not from Maine.

Good day, Eh!
